e-PASS is the windshield transponder used on Greek motorways so a linked subscriber account is charged as you pass an electronic lane. GreeceTolls is an independent estimator — it does not sell transponders, open accounts, or take toll payments.

What e-PASS is
Attiki Odos describes e-PASS as an electronic device that stays on the inner windshield. At an electronic lane the plaza reads the device, the barrier lifts, and the subscriber account is charged. Other Greek operators issue their own transponders under local brand names — Aegean Motorway’s eway, Olympia Odos’s OLYMPIA PASS — that do the same job on their networks.
HELLASTRON is the association of Greece’s modern toll-road operators. The operators publish an interoperability arrangement: an e-PASS (or partner transponder) from one network can be used in the electronic lanes of the others, including Olympia Odos, Moreas, Aegean Motorway, the Rio-Antirrio Bridge, Nea Odos, Kentriki Odos (E65), and Egnatia Odos.
Cash, card, and e-PASS at the plaza
Attiki Odos and Olympia Odos both publish mixed payment: cash or contactless card at a collector lane or an automatic machine, and the transponder in a marked electronic lane. Olympia Odos notes that some ramp stations and the Patras–Pyrgos stations have no collector — card or cash at a machine, or a transponder, is the plan there.
If you already have e-PASS, Attiki Odos says you can still use a collector lane when you need to top up the account or when an electronic lane is out of service. Without a transponder, stay out of the electronic lanes and use a general / collector or automatic-payment lane.
Subscription discounts, minimum top-ups, and replacement-device charges are set by each operator and change. This page does not quote those extras. Read the operator’s current price list before you subscribe.
One device on other motorways
Attiki Odos’s interoperability page: keep enough balance for the trip and the return. Other networks will not reload an Attiki Odos account at their plazas. Use the electronic lane with the same marking you already know from Attiki Odos, and follow that motorway’s height, gap, and speed signs.
A passage on Attiki Odos is billed on the subscription plan you chose there. A passage on another motorway is billed on that operator’s own tariff, without Attiki Odos discounts. If you carry more than one transponder, put only the one you intend to use on the windshield.
Attiki Odos also warns that a roof load (cases, bikes) can change the vehicle class on a height-limited electronic lane. In that case they recommend a collector lane so the class is set correctly.
Visitors and rentals
A subscriber transponder is issued against a named account and, typically, a specific vehicle. Short-term visitors almost never buy a personal e-PASS for a car they do not own. A hired car should already have the operator’s device on that windshield, or the desk should tell you to pay cash or card at each plaza.
Ask before you leave the lot: is a transponder fitted, is the account funded, and which operator issued it? Tolls you drive are charged to that account and settled through the rental, not through GreeceTolls.
GreeceTolls does not sell e-PASS or eway devices, process top-ups, or take motorway payments. If a desk cannot confirm a working tag, that is a rental or operator problem.
